Hello Madrid Families!

What a great turnout we had last night at Open House! Wowza! Thank you to all of the families who came to meet families, drop off supplies, and tour the building! It felt great to see the hallways filled with people!
A couple things came to mind tonight:
- Send a water bottle to school with your child
- Keep fidgets, Pokemon cards, and other toys at home
- Tops and bottoms must meet at Madrid Elem- no crop tops!
- Tennis shoes are encouraged. Flip flops and sandals seem to break and injuries are more likely.
Before and After School: All car riders and walkers will enter the building through the main office door on the west side of the building. Breakfast will be served from 7:30-8:00am, with those students entering the southwest door (the main office door). Students not eating breakfast who arrive at school before 7:50 am will wait under the awning, located by the main office door. Supervision will not occur until 7:50 am. At 7:50 all students will gather in the gym.
Car rider drop off will occur on the west side of the building. Main Street will be a one-way road from West 21st Street to Highway 210 from 7:30am-8:30am and 2:30pm-3:30pm. The one-way will run from north to south. When dropping off students, please do NOT get out of your vehicle! If you do need to get out of your vehicle, please park on the West side of the street.
Bus drop off and pick up will occur on the east side of the building. Daycare providers with many passengers will be allowed to pick up on the east side, parking north of the parking lot driveway.
All students will be dismissed at 3:05pm. Car riders will be dismissed on the west side. Bus riders will load on the east side. Walkers may exit the building nearest their walking destination.
Communication: All PreK-5th grade classrooms will be using Class DoJo as their primary way to communicate. Families that were signed up for class DoJo last year will be invited to their current teacher’s classroom. The district will also be using the Remind app and Infinite Campus. Building specific news can also be found on the Madrid Elementary Facebook page.
